From rejection letters to uncomfortable interviews, finding a suitable job can be stressful and can leave one feeling anxious, depressed and pessimistic about one’s future.
Job hunting depression is real and is said to greatly impact long-term unemployed individuals, that is to say all unemployed persons with continuous periods of unemployment extending for a year or longer. Coming to terms with job-search isn’t as easy as sending out multiple résumés as even the strongest candidates aren’t guaranteed to land the job, creating a constant feeling of uncertainty.
Dealing emotionally with this kind of adversity requires learning and building supportive habits in our personal lives. With June Kashio, HR Consultant and Staff Care Coach, we discussed how people can deal with the ups and downs of job search in a supportive way and how she supports expats with the process of relocation.
Join Corinne Lembe Mayunga as she talks with June Kashio about her career and how people can remain mindful of their stress level while searching for a new job.
