A quick peek into The BETTY Effect workshop, "RISE: Using Your Unique Voice for Change." The trio presented workshops on tour at schools in South Africa, including the girls school in the township of Khayelitsha, Cape Town. The BETTY Effect is the non-profit wing of the longtime indie rock trio, BETTY. Here, BETTY and the students took some of the wishes and desires of the group and, over the course of the gathering, together they all wrote the song, "I've Got Something To Say (I've Got A Voice.)" The BETTY Effect is an organization that works directly with people to empower those who want to build stronger communities. theBETTYeffect.org
