The Earth's water is stored in various places, including oceans, rivers, lakes, glaciers, and groundwater. About 97% of the Earth's water is found in oceans, which contain saltwater and are the largest water bodies on Earth. The remaining 3% of freshwater is stored in glaciers, ice caps, rivers, lakes, swamps, and underground aquifers. Water is also stored in the atmosphere in the form of water vapor, which forms clouds and precipitation, eventually returning to the Earth's surface as rain or snow.
