While other handheld consoles like the Steamdeck or ASUS ROG Ally use AMD processors, the MSI CLAW uses the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor. This processor has a total of 16 cores: 6 for performance, 8 for efficiency, and 2 for low-power efficiency. The processor, capable of reaching a turbo frequency of 4.8 GHz, has a 24 MB Intel Smart Cache. The powerful processor, with 115 W MTP (Maximum Turbo Power), naturally cannot use this level of power inside the handheld console. Like all other handheld consoles, the device uses an internal GPU. The Intel Arc Graphics internal GPU, capable of reaching a maximum frequency of 2.25 GHz, has 8 X-Cores. This Intel processor also includes an NPU unit. Intel AI Boost technology's support for artificial intelligence is a welcome development. However, its usefulness for a device designed for this purpose, where you'll spend most of your time gaming, is debatable. Let's look at the device's other technical specifications: It has 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory, which operates at 6400 MT/s. Of course, it also has an M.2 SSD, which has a capacity of 1 TB. It uses the Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1750 model as its connectivity module and has Bluetooth 5.4. The MSI CLAW, with its black chassis, boasts an ergonomic design. The device is quite comfortable to hold, as I liked its smooth design better than the serrated grips on the ROG Ally. The rear of the device is designed entirely with a grille, which helps reduce heat buildup to some extent. The front features two 2W speakers, each with Hi-Res Audio certification. The MSI CLAW boasts a 7-inch Full HD 120Hz display. This display has an IPS panel and is almost identical to the ROG Ally. Another feature of the device is its Hall Effect analogs and buttons. This eliminates analog drift and provides a better feel. The top of the device houses a power button with a fingerprint sensor, a Thunderbolt 4 port, volume buttons, a 3.5mm jack, and a MicroSD card slot. The device is well-designed for handheld gaming and weighs 675g. You can comfortably play games in your hand for hours.
