Meet the journalists behind FATAL EXTRACTION
ICIJ and the Center for Public Integrity worked collaboratively to produce “Fatal Extraction”, an immersive multimedia experience on the deaths, injuries and allegations of labor abuse involving Australian companies operating across Africa. Australian listed companies are more numerous than those other mining giants China and Canada. In a trip made possible by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, reporters Eleanor Bell and Will Fitzgibbon travelled to Mali, Malawi, South Africa and DRC to bring these stories to life and give voice to those rarely heard outside their local communities.
