The Search for the Silent Frog
There are frogs on this planet that are encountered so infrequently that their advertisement calls have never been heard or recorded. The advertisement call is the call made by the male to attract a female. In this video, Dr. John Cossel and Prof. Jonathan Twining pursue the Leopard Robber Frog in hopes that they can record its call for the first time. They are publishing their findings in the Journal of South American Herpetology in 2023.
