Give your wood a second life! In this new video from Workshop W11, we'll show you how to transform scraps and leftovers into an amazing mini wood planer.
It's the perfect project to use up those pine and banak scraps you have lying around in your workshop.
In this step-by-step tutorial, you'll learn:
Wood Preparation: How to shape and clean 1.5-inch boards to obtain perfect rectangular prisms, removing knots and resin for an aesthetic finish.
Smart Drilling Techniques: The secret to drilling straight holes (like for chimneys or exhaust pipes) before cutting curves, ensuring nothing ends up crooked.
Component Fabrication: You'll see how to create 2.5 cm rear wheels with a hole saw and how to fabricate the main roller using a lathe or by assembling wood cuts.
Functional Mechanism: The process of assembling the side arms and axles using wooden dowels, ensuring that both the roller and wheels rotate freely without being blocked by glue.
Design Details: We added a simulated window using a Forner bit for quick and clean roughing.
