Hold Me Now Lyrics

G C D
Don't... don't close your heart to how you feel
G C D
Dream, and don't be afraid the dream's not real
C D Bm Em
Close your eyes, pretend it's just the two of us again
C D
Make believe this moment's here to stay

G C D
Touch... touch me the way you used to do
G C D
I know tonight could be all I'll have with you
C D Bm Em
From now on, you'll be with someone else instead of me
C Am D
So tonight, let's fill this memory
For the last time -

G Em
Hold me now
C D
Don't cry, don't say a word
G Em
Just hold me now
C D
And I will know -
Am C Bm
Though we're apart, we'll always be together
Em F
Forever in love
C D G
What do you say when words are not enough?

G C D
Time... time will be kind once we're apart
G C D
And your tears... tears will have no place in your heart
C D Bm Em
I wish I... I could say how much I'll miss you when you're gone
C Am C D
How my love for you will go on and on and

G Em
Hold me now
C D
Don't cry, don't say a word
G Em
Just hold me now
C D
And try to understand that

Em D
I hope at last you've found
C D
What you've been searchin' for
Em D Am
And though I won't be there anymore
D G
I will always love you
Em
(Hold me now)
C D
(Don't cry,) don't say a word
G Em
Just hold me now
C D
And I will know -
Am C Bm
Though we're apart, we'll always be together
Em F
Forever in love
C D G
What do you say when words are not enough?
C D C G
What can I say Now my words are not enough

Early life and career[edit]

Johnny Logan was born Seán Patrick Michael Sherrard in Frankston, Victoria. Logan's father was an Irish tenor, known as Patrick O'Hagan, who performed for three different US presidents at the White House: John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Richard Nixon. The family moved back to Ireland when Logan was three years old. He learned the guitar and began composing his own songs by the age of thirteen. On leaving school he apprenticed as an electrician, while performing in folk and blues clubs. His earliest claim to fame was starring as "Adam" in the 1977 Irish musical Adam and Eve.[3]
He adopted the stage name Johnny Logan for the main character of the film Johnny Guitar. He released his first single in 1978 and took part in the National Song Contest in 1979.[4][5]
