As part of a new series, we would like to explore with you what the Church herself tells us about prayer. Our point of reference is the 1992 Catechism of the Catholic Church. In the coming months, we will be reading and commenting on subsequent articles from the fourth part, devoted entirely to the topic of prayer.
First and foremost – what exactly is prayer? What is a "contrite heart," and why is it needed? Do we act in prayer, or does God act within us? And what distinguishes Christian prayer from non-Christian prayer?
