Ernest Hemingway was much more than a literary legend. He was a journalist, soldier, traveler, thrill-seeker, obsessive writer, and one of the great myths of the 20th century. But behind the image of the strong man—the hunter, the adventurer, the survivor—there was also a life marked by deep wounds, contradictions, fame, alcohol, war, illness, and a fragility that ultimately haunted him to the very end.

In this documentary, we explore Hemingway's life, work, and tragedy: from his childhood in Oak Park to World War I, Paris, Spain, Cuba, the Nobel Prize in Literature, and his last morning in Idaho. A story about the price of building a legend and about the man who survived almost everything, except himself.

Was Hemingway as strong as he seemed?
