Scouting for Sheep in Matanuska Alaska
These videos arent much, just a vehicle to post an old jam I like. Checking out the Southern Terminus of the Talkeetnas. Saw 24 sheep. only contacted 9 in range but nothing legal. Clouds socked in rain and couldnt see much. Found a potential volbiv site for paragliding on a saddle at 4900’. Old camp from 20-50 years ago. Ran out of food on day 3. Trying to save time, Was taking a shortcut down wrong spur on Anthracite Ridge and came a step from sliding off an unseen cliff. Had to climb back up 3500’ to top and switch over to the right spur. Ended up staying an extra night and getting lost several times in the darkness before finding a suitable camp on a game trail - small knob on a bench marsh. Had to sleep light because I couldnt hear anything over the rain.
