Every fan of "The Russia We Lost," who claims that the Bolsheviks imposed their will on the entire people of our country, needs to be asked two simple questions.
First: How can a civil war be won without the support of the broad masses? The second, very important question was posed in September 1919 by American Republican Senator William Edgar Borah.
He asked then-US President Woodrow Wilson:
"What I don't understand, Mr. President, is this: If Lenin doesn't represent the masses of the Russian people, then why is it that Admiral Kolchak and others who claim to represent the Russian people have no support from the Russian people themselves, but are entirely dependent on support from abroad?"
