So basically in that world Humans and Animals are scared of Vampires....
Thats why they hide in Human Bodies...
Katy was born a Vampire but never felt the need of hurting a Human thats why the Vampire Queen wasnt sure if she could trust Katy. To test her Trust she turned into a Human and checked if Katy would hurt someone if they try hurting her Friend.
