Science undoubtedly works. But iPhones and genetic engineering are slow to rid us of the deforestation of the Amazon, increasingly sophisticated surveillance technologies, terrorist attacks, wars, daily anxiety, fear, violence, professional liars and egotists in politics and business, who are never short of slogans. We are destroying our paradise planet, creating hell around us. "It's disheartening to see how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deception," said writer Noël Coward. According to the Gnostics, everything that happens on Earth is caused by the manipulations of the invisible shepherds of our society, the Archons, whose actions essentially boil down to one thing: all-consuming deception.
Gnostics speak of the Lord Archon, whom they call the Demiurge, and other archons who serve the Demiurge. They associate Him with the Judeo-Christian God Yahweh-Jehovah. They also associate Him with what people call Satan or the Devil. "Archon" means prince, ruler, authority, and also has the concomitant meaning "from the very beginning." They speak of the Demiurge as a counterfeit god, the creator of the material, physical reality we perceive. And they speak of these beings as inorganic, like "cyborgs," robots.
