It was during my first trip to Senegal that I had the chance to visit the island of Gorée.
A paradise island that hides a heavy past. Symbol of the memory of the slave trade in Africa. A place from which we do not emerge unscathed even today.
Difficult to express what one feels after having set foot there.. I therefore leave the floor to Disiz La Peste who, in my opinion, has always been able to find the right words.
C'est pendant mon premier voyage au Sénégal que j'ai eu la chance de visiter l'Ile de Gorée.
Une ile paradisiaque qui cache un passe lourd. Symbole de la mémoire de la traite négrière en Afrique. Un endroit dont on ne ressort pas indemne encore aujourd'hui.
Difficile d'exprimer ce qu' on ressent après y avoir pose les pieds..je laisse donc la parole a Disiz La Peste qui a selon moi toujours su trouver les mots justes.
