In 2020, while China was in the grip of COVID-19, Helena and I had a wonderful time traveling around China on a budget. One weekend, we flew to Yangshuo, a county in Guilin County (Guangxi).

By 2020, despite the ongoing construction of new hotels and infrastructure, Yangshuo remains an incredibly peaceful, quiet, and beautiful place where it's wonderful to simply stroll, raft, light a fire, hike mountain trails, and truly unwind: https://t.me/china_life/5512
If you have the chance, I highly recommend visiting Yangshuo. It's worth it.
