Our Wedding Nonnegotiable 🙅🏼♀️❌👇🏼
Here are our nonnegotiable for our destination wedding in Italy — the rules we made up since day 1! 🇮🇹👇🏼
WE ARE GETTING MARRIED IN ITALY— and no one can changed our minds about it…and we also knew they were gonna try…and they did try lol 😂 but this was a nonnegotiable for us. Our wedding was about making OUR dreams come true, not people pleasing.
WE WANT TO PAY FOR OUR ENTIRE WEDDING OURSELVES — this might come as a shocker to some but…We understand the rules and obligations that come with having family members paying for your wedding… they want to have a say on things, make up their own rules, invite whoever they want and we were just not into it. We never want to feel like anyone is doing us a favor and have to deal with guilt trips and additional stress and drama… we also don’t want it to later be thrown in our face… you know…the “I paid for your wedding….blah, blah blah.” ☝🏼 no thank you.
LIMITED GUEST LIST & INVITES — it was always super important to us to only invite people we truly know well & LOVE.
We both cringed at the idea of having people at our wedding that we don’t know. We have seen this become super common where the bride and groom don’t know half the guests and we never wanted that feeling. To us, everything we always do in life has a lot of intention behind it. It has to be meaningful and have a deeper propose. We always wanted our wedding to be super super intimate. Only surrounded by the people we truly know and love.
NO PLUS 1 — This goes along with the one above it. We want to know each and every single guests on a personal level on our most special day. We knew this might mean we will have less people attending our wedding but it’s more important to us to feel comfortable and good during our most important day of our lives.
Additionally…Destination weddings are expensive… especially when you’re also doing a few pre-wedding events which we are! (it’s gonna be a 4-day fiesta) We simply don’t want to pay thousands of dollars for people we don’t even know. It just doesn’t make sense to us.
