The main goal of visiting ancient cemeteries is to identify the date of the earliest burial and track the burial symbols and types of tombstones by time periods. Let me remind you that at the Vsekhsvyatskoye cemetery, the earliest burial that we managed to find was the burial of 1806, despite the fact that according to official data, there should have been burials from the 1700s.
In that film, many viewers correctly noted that Christian symbols on burials appeared only in the middle of the 19th century. This is an important point that we will now simply remember.
There were comments about the film about the Vsekhsvyatskoye Cemetery that these cemeteries were only for the nobility, or that ordinary people did not have enough money for a stone tombstone, so they put up a wooden cross, which simply rotted. To this I can answer that these three cemeteries: Vsekhsvyatskoye, Spasskoye and Chukovskoye, from the very foundation were positioned as cemeteries for everyone, and not for the chosen ones, there were no other cemeteries. And then, our ancestors always honored their ancestors, regardless of what monument was erected, and even if they never saw their great-great-grandmothers and great-great-grandfathers alive, they knew exactly where their graves were and looked after them. Rotten crosses were replaced with new ones. In order for the "thread of memory" to break, relatives had to stop going to the cemetery, and for this very good reasons are needed. The fact that there were no other cemeteries should also be clarified here, and for this we read a brief official historical reference:
There are three ancient cemeteries known on the territory of Tula: Vsekhsvyatskoye, Spasskoye, Chulkovskoye. They existed and operated for 200 years, from 1771 until 1969. Almost all the city residents who died during this time are buried there. They arose by decree of Catherine II, who banned burials near churches within the city limits due to the plague that broke out in Moscow. Tula was the first city to comply with the imperial decree. New cemeteries were founded outside the city limits of that time.
In August 1772, the Tula authorities allocated a place on the weapons side of the river for a cemetery for gunsmiths. The original wooden church of the "Savior on the Mountain" was built on the cemetery in 1772-1773. and consecrated in honor of the Image of Christ Not Made by Hands. In 1807, a stone temple with two aisles was erected instead of a wooden church. Burials in the cemetery continued until the 1960s. Currently, the cemetery is closed. The temple is still open today.
At the Spasskoye Cemetery there are tombstones of the 18th-19th centuries of high historical and artistic value - burials: factory owners merchants Lyalin, Batashev and the family of the founder of the samovar business in Tula - Fyodor Ivanovich Lisitsyn.

The oldest burial, of those that were discovered and dates were read, is a baby from 1802, then Prudnikov in 1822 and Lyalin - 1831.
