Taper Bush - Assembly and disassembly
This video will show you how to do assembly and disassembly of a Taper Bush. It will show you how the bush is installed into a pulley.
Below are the simple steps to follow:
• The first step is to align your taper bush up in the pulley with respect to the holes. Threaded holes in the pully must match with the three holes in the taper bush.
• The Taper bush should have 2 plain holes opposite each other and a tapped hole opposite the split
• The bush hole should align with the opposite style holes in the pulley
• Screw the 2 grubs screws into the tapped holes in the bush but do not fully tighten until you have the pulley in the correct place in the shaft
• When fully tightened, the bush will be compressed into the pulley and will clamp the shaft and keyway as explained in the video.
• To remove the bush, first unscrew both of the grub screws from the bush
• Next, screw one of the grub screws into the single tapped hole in the pulley
• When tightened it will start to lift the bush out of the pulley and will free it from the shaft
