Join me, James, as I embark on a cod-fishing expedition in the scenic Shannon Estuary. This video is the first in a series where I'll be documenting my efforts to catch cod throughout the winter months.
In this episode, we're fishing a mark known for its abundance of fish, particularly during the low tide. We're using a variety of baits, including crab and mackerel, to attract the attention of cod and other predatory fish.
Despite the challenging conditions, we manage to land two impressive rays, one of which is a personal best for me. I was 'disappointed not to catch any cod, but encouraged by the results and eager to continue the quest.
