Now that I've finished Demon Turf I feel that I can give a better review on it. Firstly, if you're into platforming games like Mario 64 or Hat in Time, then you'll most likely enjoy Demon Turf.
Of course, it doesn't come without its downsides, although I think they don't outweigh the good sides. For the most part, the gameplay is fun and responsive, the movement is a little unforgiving at times (locking you into an animation), but you'll learn to play around that over time. Combat within the game feels satisfying. The level design, while it does feel like a bunch of ideas mashed into one level, is pretty good. The puzzles within the levels are fun, battling enemies here and there feels good, and the level's platforming is amazing. My only complaint with the level design is the moving platforms. There are a lot of moving platforms in the game, and they're quite slow, leading to a lot of waiting points in the levels, which I felt could've been made more fun with actual platforming. The special abilities in the game are fun to play around with too. The grappling hook plays how it should, although I wish it was more forgiving, as locking on isn't that easy, nor are you allowed to jump more than once before using it. The wheel ability is amazing, and by far, my favorite ability in the game. The gliding ability, while not my favorite, is good and works properly. The last ability you receive in the game is the one I find the WORST. The time bubble ability is terrible, as it creates a time bubble that slows everything in it down, including the player, making timing anything practically useless. Lastly, the OST in this game is fantastic, and I'd recommend giving it a listen for yourself sometime.
