Rimworld Mod Showcase: Gromponents Mod! Rimworld Mod Guide
A new mod for Rimworld Alpha 16 called Gromponents, which lets you grow your own components in the game. It gives you two components after a roughly 3 day grow-period. (Plants have rest times too).
I did the math to see how this compares to a normal colonist. At level 20 crafting you need 13 hydroponic benches to outpace that colonist per growing period. These things are vastly superior to crafting your own components.
They are called Component Plants. These plants can only be grown in Hydroponics. They take the same amount of time as a cotton plant to grow. Each plant will drop 2 Components at 100% growth.
