Mending rips and tears with your sewing machine on your clothing can be very easy to do. This is very simple and most sewing machines will have this stitch. The best settings are usually 1-1.5mm in length and a full width zig zag. This stitch is known by many names: 3-Step zig zag, multiple zig zag, elastic stitch, triple zig zag stitch, multi-step zig zag, etc...
