If you're not sure of the continuity of your circuit, you may need to perform a test with a multimeter. For the purpose of this video, we'll be using the R5008 Multimeter. These steps will work for most multimeters.
The steps start at 0:26 -
Step 1: Attach the test leads to the multimeter - 0:26
Step 2: Turn the multimeter on to perform the continuity test - 0:31
Step 3: Verify that it is in working condition by touching the two (2) leads together - 0:44
Step 4: Connect the test leads to each end of the cable ensuring they're on the same coloured wire. A beep will confirm that the circuit is continuous - 0:50
Expert Note: For applications where continuity needs to be tested over a wider distance, the R5300 Continuity Tester with remote probe may be beneficial - 1:03
