An ex libris (abbreviation of the Latin "ex libris meis", "from my books") is a label, usually adorned with a motto and a coat of arms (or other graphic representation), which is applied to a book to indicate its owner .
The ex libris is usually placed on the inside of the first cover page (but one can find it in the places he prefers) of the volumes in a private library.
