types of orifice plates,
1. Concentric Orifice Plate: This is the most common type of orifice plate, where the orifice is placed concentrically in the pipe.
2. Eccentric Orifice Plate: In this type, the orifice is located off-center in the pipe. It is used to measure fluids that contain solids or particles that may clog the orifice.
3. Segmental Orifice Plate: This type of orifice plate has a segmental opening, usually a quarter of the circumference of the pipe, making it suitable for high flow rates.
4. Quadrant Edge Orifice Plate: This type of orifice plate has a sharp edge around the orifice, which creates a more accurate measurement.
5. Conditioning Orifice Plate: These plates have additional components like upstream and downstream flow conditioners, which are used to reduce turbulence and increase measurement accuracy.
6. Flow Nozzle: A flow nozzle is similar to an orifice plate but has a converging inlet section and a diverging outlet section. This type of plate is used in situations where the pressure drop is critical.
7. Venturi Tube: A venturi tube has a converging inlet section, a throat, and a diverging outlet section. This type of plate is used for measuring higher flow rates and provides a lower permanent pressure loss than other orifice plates.
8. Multi-Hole Orifice Plate: This type of orifice plate has multiple holes, which can be used to measure the flow rate of different fluids simultaneously.
9. Dual Chamber Orifice Plate: This type of orifice plate has two chambers separated by a partition. The flow of fluid through the orifice creates a pressure difference between the two chambers, which can be used to measure the flow rate.
10. Conical Entrance Orifice Plate: In this type of orifice plate, the inlet of the orifice is shaped like a cone. This helps to reduce the turbulence of the fluid entering the orifice and provides a more accurate measurement.
11. Quadrant Orifice Plate: A quadrant orifice plate has a circular hole divided into four quadrants, each with a different radius. This design helps to reduce the permanent pressure loss and provides better measurement accuracy.
12. Restriction Orifice Plate: A restriction orifice plate is used to reduce the flow rate of a fluid. It has a smaller orifice than a standard orifice plate and creates a more significant pressure drop.
