As you enter Parc de la Ciutadella, you are immediately greeted by lush greenery, serene lakes, and beautifully landscaped gardens. The park’s paths are lined with trees, making it a shady and pleasant place for a walk, even during the summer heat. Statues and sculptures are scattered throughout, giving the park an artistic and cultural vibe. You may also encounter various musicians and performers, adding a lively yet laid-back atmosphere to your walk.
As you stroll further, you'll come across the Lake, where you can rent a boat and peacefully row across the water, surrounded by trees and chirping birds.
The centerpiece of the park is the majestic Cascada Monumental, a stunning fountain with intricate sculptures and waterfalls, designed by Josep Fontserè, with some input from a young Antoni Gaudí. It's a perfect spot to pause and take in the serene beauty of the park - unfortunately due to drought season, it was not working.
