Abstract: USAID is a unique organization that operates across countries and supports areas from education to humanitarian aid. This session would focus on how USAID is now using data, a set of analytical tooling, using R, in their process of modeling the demand for workforce across the world and Washington. We would cover the business need, the technical architecture, the R involved, and the impact on the workforce.
Bio: Refael Lav (Rafi) is a specialist Leader with AI and Data at Deloitte. Rafi's experience focuses on developing and leading AI and analytics solutions from R&D, approach and methodology to development and implementation for a wide range of clients in the private and public sectors, such as donor organizations, large government agencies, banking, and investment management. His solutions are internal and public-facing and impact both policies and operations. His analytics solutions were implemented in large agencies and global financial organizations. Rafi has extensive experience in machine learning algorithms, natural language processing solutions, predictive, statistical analysis, recommendation engines, computer vision, and signal processing. He leads projects, serves as an advisor for others, and leads AI operate offerings for Deloitte. Rafi holds a Master’s of Science of Finance from Johns Hopkins University and B.S. in Economics from George Washington University. Rafi is a member of the corporate Board of the Master in Analytics at the George Washington University School of Business.
