[Dream SMP Animatic] - Anamnesis
TW: Blood, self harm, drowning.
For those that don't know, 'anamnesis' is the Platonic recollection of memories from before one's life, aka 'inner knowledge' (Being a classics/philosophy major does some good for me at last!).
This is a headcanon inspired by Ranboo's portal room lab, so there's no actual spoilers here for the DSMP storyline!
I'm sorry for putting the beeduo through this but hey - gotta love some good ol' fashioned angst, amiright?

When Ranboo first built the lab in the portal room, he mentioned on stream that this would be a place to run tests on himself to discover new abilities and to learn how to potentially control the Enderwalk. In my mind, whenever he enters this state, his usual consciousness takes a back seat but is still aware of its surroundings and has a minimal influence on his body's actions (although he remembers nothing when he wakes up).
He enters the Walk one night in the mansion, but his usual consciousness has no clue what the Walk's intentions are, so in an effort to protect his family from potential harm, he directs the Walk to remove his antlers and go to the lab. Ranboo knows that Tubbo has no knowledge of the lab itself, but that he's smart enough to be able to follow the trail of blood.
When he gets to the lab, Ranboo attempts to take back control of his own mind by essentially doing the experiments in reverse: instead of doing them to activate the Walk, he does them to try to deactivate it. He intended only on wounding himself, but in a daze tripped and fell into the tank.
If Tubbo hadn't arrived in time, Ranboo would have drowned.
At this point, the video ends, but Ranboo regains his consciousness (in his normal state, no Enderwalk) a while after being pulled from the tank. He's able to physically heal with the help of health potions and such, but both he and Tubbo are emotionally scarred for quite some time after.
They don't talk about the incident much, but Tubbo is always very supportive. Neither of them tell Michael what really happened; instead, they make up a story about some expedition gone wrong.
In short: no lives lost, but plenty of trauma gained! PAIN
