Tending My Garden, Tending My Soul and Some quiet words I gave to myself… and maybe to anyone else who needs a little peace today. 🌱
Hi everyone, I haven’t been on my phone much lately because my health hasn’t been great. Instead, I’ve been focusing on things that bring me peace and joy and like working on my backyard garden or playing the piano a bit😉
Here’s what I’ve done recently:
Because I wasn’t feeling well for a while, I couldn’t manage the garden, and it became overgrown with weeds. So I finally cleaned it up and laid down some ground cover and mulch to stop the weeds from coming back, and then planted some easy-to-care-for flowers and fruits like strawberries, blueberries, and grapes in planter boxes to make things simpler.
I specifically chose flowers that can survive all year round, even in tough weather and like roses and California poppies and so I don’t have to replant every year.
A few years ago, I tried growing mushrooms, which turned the yard into a wild mess! I had to let tall plants grow to provide shade, so I left everything overgrown, and it became hard to manage. Though I had a great harvest—so many mushrooms I couldn’t finish them all—I eventually got tired of them.
This year, I decided to stop growing mushrooms. If I ever grow them again, I’ll find a better method next time, lol.
Now my backyard finally feels neat and peaceful again, and I’m hoping this little change will also help my body slowly recover.
The background music in this video is one of my earlier improvised compositions. I felt it matched the mood, and I hope it brings you a little peace too😉
