Pete Maravich was a professional American basketball player who played in the NBA for 10 seasons from 1970 to 1980. He was known for his impressive ball-handling skills, incredible passing ability, and flashy playing style, earning him the nickname Pistol Pete. Maravich was a three-time All-American at Louisiana State University and went on to have a successful career in the NBA, being named to the All-NBA First Team twice and leading the league in scoring in the 1976-1977 season. He was also a five-time NBA All-Star and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987.
