NASA Green Run Test 8
The NASA Space Launch System Core Stage 1 displayed the power of a launch without ever leaving the ground during Test 8 of the Green Run test series - Hot Fire. On the B-2 test stand at NASA Stennis, all 4 RS-25 Aerojet Rocketdyne engines were fired up as NASA and Boeing engineer teams simulated the first minutes of the launch sequence. Our teams conducted a successful full-duration 8 minute (499.6 seconds) hot fire of the Artemis I core stage. This is not only a spectacular hot fire test but also a huge step toward the #Artemis missions that will take the first woman and next man to the Moon. Our engineering teams will take back mountains of data and inspect the core stage to ensure it's ready for its journey to NASA Kennedy for launch.
