Today, we'll be factoring quadratic equations - everything from simple binomials to difference of squares, as well as trinomials where the leading coefficient a is 1 and when a is greater than 1.

First, we'll look for a GCF (greatest common factors) that can be factored out. Then, if it's a binomial, we'll check to see if it's the difference of perfect squares, which can be factored quickly with an easy trick.
When we get to the trinomials, we'll see examples where the "a" (leading coefficient in front of x squared) is 1. If so, we'll look for factors of "c" which combine to the "b" value, and create our two binomials with those numbers. Otherwise, we'll use the ac method for factoring quadratic trinomials.
