Happy Birthday Jackie Daly
This recording was donated to the Handed Down Sliabh Luachra Archives by Jackie Daly on May 16 - 2025.
It was found among dozens of cassette tapes and was marked Long Note and no details of its content.
It is possibly the first ever time Jackie Daly was recorded for Rte Radio and is historic for that alone.
The presenter was Micheal O Domhnaill who would join the Bothy band one year later in 1975.
His views here and comments have stood the test of time and today 51 years later his praise of Jackie Daly still rings true.
