DIY Drill Press. Sekretmastera Machines
A DIY drilling press can be made from various scraps. This amateur radio drill press was assembled in the late 1980s with the help of Uncle Vova. Access to various scraps and workshops led to the creation of this massive drilling press, which allowed me to create hundreds of drills for making not only amateur radio components. Only materials available to the author were used in its construction.
The base and rocker, some kind of stand, and the handle are made of getinax. With the right spring, the drill feed was smooth. Homemade mini drill presses are most common in amateur radio workshops because buying industrial units is expensive, and you can make your own.
