Yahama SY35 demo / for sale
I've recently put my near-perfect condition 1992 Yahama SY35 synthesizer up for sale on eBay - item number 115622716062 . Here's a little demo I did for it.
The keyboard action is one of the best in the business for a sub-£1000 synth, and the digital patches are lovely. Deep and powerful lead synth sounds, strings, brasses and organs, delicate pianos and plucky guitars. As well as the usual FM+AWM sound editing, this synth features a 4-way "vector" joystick which allows you to mix either 2 or 4 sounds in real time for an amazing live performance; see 25 seconds in.
I've loved this synth since I bought it new in the early 1990s. It's an absolute joy to play, and I'll miss it. But children need shoes; goth teenagers need boots.
