Two Days on Catalina Island
As part of our wedding anniversary, we spent two days on Catalina Island with our daughter. We have been to this island multiple times before, just the two of us, but this is the first time we bring our daughter and she loved it. We took the noon ferry from Long Beach to Avalon, which is a little over one hour boat ride. We had a shuttle from our hotel pick us up and take us to the hotel, which was a little farther away than we would have liked from the center of Avalon, event though it is all really walking distance since it is a small town. The first thing we did on the first day was rent a golf cart to drive around the town and take some photos by the famous viewpoint of the island. We later changed clothes to spend some time on the beach where Emma played on the sand but we did not get in the water, since it was cold! We ended the day with pizza at Antonio's then went back to the hotel and swam in the pool before calling it a night. The second day, we checked out of the hotel and took our luggage to the storage service by the ferry dock, since our ferry would leave until 7:45pm. We then walked over to the Descanso Beach Club restaurant to have a late brunch and hang out at the beach for a while. We were full, so we were happy to walk back to Avalon to walk off the food and enjoy the sights. The rest of the day we just spent it walking around the town, we got ice cream and then took Emma to a small playground near the ferry dock, before catching out ferry back to Long Beach. We had a great time and it was a very relaxing two days, which was just a perfect amount of time to spend on the island with a toddler!
