The time was come. The greatest technical wrestler on Planet Earth in 2024 has won the G1 Climax tournament in its 34th Iteration. The delegation rises & applauds Zack Sabre Jr.
Aside from my fandom of ZSJ's in ring work, here's why this is monumental:
1. ZSJ joins the SMALL list of foreigners / gaijins to win the G1 Climax.
2. He's the first Briton to win the G1 Climax (Will Ospreay should've won too)
3. He's the first person in this iteration of the G1 to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship BEFORE Wrestle Kingdom.
Hopefully it's not too little too late, and they put the belt of ZSJ. NJPW is hurting right now & in my opinion, ZSJ is the guy they need to run with. He's been too consistent, too good, for too long. Stop playing with him.
So Naito, may it be your Destino to drop the belt at King of Pro Wrestling 2024. Respectfully.
