Have you ever wondered how they transmit 100, 400 or 800 Gigabits per second with a fibre cable? I show you here how those optical transceivers are built.
PS: I apologize for my dumbness.... The R and T partnumbers on Receiver and Transmitter are clearly visible :-)
PSPS: Yes, there are 12 output lenses on the first transceiver and the cable that attaches to it may also have 12 fibres... but only 4+4 (=8) are used. The four in the center have no function.
