The ground won't warn you. But you can be ready.
This video shows exactly what I do BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER an earthquake - from my own room while gaming.
BEFORE:
✔️ Bolt furniture
✔️ Pack a go-bag (water, light, power bank)
✔️ Clear your safe zone (under a sturdy desk)
DURING:
⚠️ DROP to your knees
⚠️ COVER your neck
⚠️ HOLD the desk leg until shaking stops
AFTER:
1️⃣ Check yourself for injuries
2️⃣ TEXT family (don't call)
3️⃣ Check for fire or gas leaks
4️⃣ Wait for official all clear
