Evolving Shiny Staryu into Shiny Starmie in Pokémon Crystal
So I’ve been having the absolute urge to replay Crystal lately and so I did !
Last I played was like idk over 20 years ago perhaps lmao (yes I am THAT old y’all xD) but my Crystal cartridge was buggy (?) Or idk maybe the battery died ever since I bought it and I couldn’t get the clock to move forward and as a dumb kid just migrating from Kanto’s RBY, I didn’t even know what that meant so I just set the default Sunday morning time or something lol
What I didn’t know back then (only to learn much later on, when I didn’t feel like deleting my save file) was that it locked me from getting Staryu bc I somehow found out that they’re only available at nighttime…
So my game being stuck at morning time forever (yes, that means no magical gen 2 nighttime experience for me back then asdfghjklasdfg) prevented me from getting one of these guys, and with Starmie being my absolute favourite Pokémon I was pretty much SoL
So ofc I would like to indulge myself this time as a revenge run by getting myself a Staryu, and a shiny one at that ! With this I can die in peace lol (not rly I still have gen 3 revenge run Shiny Starmie-wise lol) but yea.
