Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller Repair | I/O Board and Bumper Buttons
Hello Everyone,
Today I'm repairing my Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. The Right Bumper button has quit working, so I bought some replacement buttons and a new I/O board from Microsoft and am going to complete the swap out myself.
This controller is out of warranty, so no worries about voiding anything in the process. Microsoft states that doing a self-repair won't void your warranty, but if you do break anything in the process, the warranty won't cover it. So, if your controller is still under warranty and has an issue, I suggest letting them do the repair and you won't have any worries or out of pocket costs.
The video is in real time, with a few cut snippets where I was checking the repair instructions. If you need to skip to a step, then you can use the timestamps below to navigate. I don't like when repair videos skip ahead and don't show the work, so I prefer to have my whole process instead of editing out stuff for time. I hope that this allows those who tackle similar repairs themselves with as complete a reference as possible.
