भारत के पहले केबल आधारित रेल पुल Anji Khad Bridge में एक महत्वपूर्ण मुकाम हासिल कर लिया गया है यूएसबीआरएल के इस रेलवे पुल में सभी 96 केबल स्थापित कर दिए गए हैं जम्मू कश्मीर के कटरा और रियासी के बीच में रेलवे लाइन को जोड़ने वाला यह पुल कुल 725 मीटर लंबा है जिसमें से 473 मीटर लंबा केबल आधारित रेलवे पुल है अंजी रेलवे पुल के सुपर स्ट्रक्चर को मई 2023 तक पूरा कर लिए जाने का टारगेट रखा गया है
The Anji-Khad rail bridge, India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge, is ready. The first bridge of its kind is made of 96 cables in total. Anji-Khad rail bridge will connect Katra to Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir. The bridge has been made using cutting-edge technology and is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions. The new bridge will help boost country’s economic growth and tourism industry. The bridge is constructed in the Reasi district of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir under the most challenging Udampur-Srinagar-Baramulla-Rail Link (USBRL) Project of Indian Railways. The total length of the bridge is 725.5 metres. Considering the ease of construction and typical site conditions, the bridge has been divided into 4 parts: a 120 m long approach viaduct (called an "ancillary viaduct") on the Reasi side, a 38 m long approach bridge on the Katra end (CA2), the main bridge, crossing the deep valley (473.25 m cable-stayed portion), and the central embankment (94.25 m), located between the main bridge and an approach (ancillary) viaduct. The main bridge over Anji is a cable-stayed bridge with a total length of 473.25 m and a main span of 290 m. Anji Khad Bridge connects tunnels T2 and T3 on the Katra-Banihal Section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link project.
The Anji Khad bridge is an under construction cable-stayed bridge connecting Katra and Reasi Section of Jammu–Baramulla line. Earlier, an arch bridge similar to the Chenab Bridge was proposed. The Anji Khad bridge was initially proposed to be an arch bridge. It was designed as a long steel arches span bridge. Its main arch span was 265 m and the deck height is 189 m. The 8.5-kilometre-long (5.3 mi) bridge lies southeast of the Chenab Bridge, near Reasi, along which the alignment of the new railway line crosses the deep gorges of Anji Khad. Quality aspects, construction standards, indigenous materials and the painting scheme were proposed to be similar to the Chenab Bridge. Later, a committee headed by a former railway board chairman has recommended that the location is not suitable for an arch bridge. In October 2016 Indian Railways has decided to build a cable-stayed bridge at Anji Khad. HCC started the construction of cable-stayed Anji Khad Bridge in january 2017, The target was to complete in 36 months. Single pylon of the Anji khad bridge has been completed in march 2021.
