Sorry about the ad guys I didn't put that. Anyways, the EOS M is a great little camera but it can be made much more capable by installing magic lantern and it's surprisingly simple. Once you do you get a load of features normally reserved for higher end cameras.
Download: https://builds.magiclantern.fm/
(NOTE: This is for the EOS M. Magic Lantern is not supported on the EOS M1, M2, or M3)
(UPDATE: You have to click on older builds and download one of the older ones. The one I use is from February 19th. BUILD: magiclantern-Nightly.2015Feb20.EOSM202.zip Changeset: 36ff475)
(UPDATE 2: I now use BUILD: magiclantern-Nightly.2016May07.EOSM202.zip Changeset: e609c14)
It makes it so much easier to use the eos m as a b or c camera. Things like zebras, a waveform, and histogram, all aid in getting a good exposure. One of my favorite features is the fps override which allows you to capture time-lapses in camera.
You can even shoot raw if you're willing to do a little extra work in post. That heavily increases the dynamic range of the footage you can get with this little camera. This is part one of a series of videos I made for the EOS M. Hope you enjoy.
