MATH for EXOTIC WEAPON CHANCES

Everyone should do the Nightfall on all characters and check Xur each week. I am going to assume that you do this already and focus on the raids for this math. (Because there is no way to get more chances from either Xur or the nightfall each week). It is also worth noting that the raids provide a much better chance at exotic weapons than the nightfall. The nightfall has a very large loot pool so getting an exotic weapon is actually quite rare.
The average Destiny player with 3 characters:
VoG Exotic Chest (Hard) x3
Atheon (Hard) x3
Deathsinger x3
Crota (Hard) x3
= 12 Exotic Weapon Chances

Atheon (Easy) x3
VoG Exotic Chest (Hard) x3

= 21 Exotic Weapon Chances

My method gives you 9 more chances than the 12 chances the typical player is getting per week.
(21-12) / 12 ► 9/12 ► 0.75
Which is a 75% increase in Exotic Weapon Chances! If you are still looking for exotics I highly suggest you try this method.
