Today we learn how to create "DEPARTMENTS/EMPLOYEES Master Detail Page/Form" in an Oracle APEX 21.2 InshaAllah.

1. Create Form
a. Click on "App Builder"
b. Come to application "APEX21.2"
c. Hit "Create Page" button
d. Click on "Master Detail"
e. Select "Stacked"
f. Assign Page Number (18) & Name (Departments | Employees) from your choice.
g. "Page Mode" will be "Normal", select "Breadcrumb" from "Breadcrumb" drop down, hit "Next" button.
h. "Do not associate this page..", hit "Next" button.
i. Define "Master Region Title" (Departments), & "Location" is "Local Database"
j. "Table / View Owner" is HR (it is schema owner)
k. Select "DEPARTMENTS" from "Table / View Name" drop down.
l. Select "DEPARTMENT_ID" from "Primary Key Column" drop down, & click "Next" button.
m. Define "Detail Region Title" (Employees), & Location is "Local Database".
n. Check on "Yes" for "Show Only Related Tables:"
o. Select "EMPLOYEES" from "Table / View Name" drop down.
p. Select "EMPLOYEE_ID" from "Primary Key Column" drop down.
q. Select "DEPARTMENT_ID" from "Master Detail Foreign Key", & click "Create" button.
1. Create LOV
MANAGER
a. Click on "Departments" (Interactive Grid)
b. Expand "Columns"
c. Click on "MANAGER_ID", select "Popup LOV" from "Type" drop down under "Identification"
d. Change "Heading" to "Manager" under "Heading"
e. "Search as You Type" is "On", "Green Color" indicate it is "On".
f. Define "Title" from your choice (Manager) under "Settings"
g. Select "Shared Components" from "Type", & "MANAGER" from "List of Values" drop down.
h. "Display Extra Values" is "Off", "Gray Color" indicate it is "Off"
i. Define "- Select Manager -" to "Null Display Value" under "List of Values", Hit "Save (Alt+F7)" button.
LOCATION
j. Click on "LOCATION_ID" & select "Popup LOV" from "Type" drop down under "Identification"
k. Change "Heading" to "Location" under "Heading"
l. Repeat point "e, & h"
m. Define "Title" from your choice (Location) under "Settings"
n. Select "Shared Components" from "Type", & "LOCATIONS" from "List of Values" drop down.
o. Define "- Select Location -" to "Null Display Value" under "List of Values", Hit "Save (Alt+F7)" button.
JOB
p. Click on "Employees" (Interactive Grid)
q. Repeat point "b"
r. Click on "JOB_ID" & select "Popup LOV" from "Type" drop down under "Identification"
s. Change "Heading" to "Job" under "Heading"
t. Repeat point "e, & h"
u. Define "Title" from your choice (Job) under "Settings"
v. Select "Shared Components" from "Type", & "JOB" from "List of Values" drop down.
w. Define "- Select Designation -" to "Null Display Value" under "List of Values", Hit "Save (Alt+F7)" button.
MANAGER
t. Repeat point "c-i"
2. Create Entry in Navigation Menu
a. Click on "App Builder"
b. Come to Application "APEX21.2"
c. Click on "Shared Components".
d. Click on "Navigation Menu" under "Navigation"
e. Click on "Navigation Menu"
f. Hit "Create Entry" button.
g. Assign "Transaction Forms" from "Parent List Entry" drop down, assign "Sequence" (3010), "Image/Class" (fa-book),
& "List Entry Label" (Department | Employee) from your choice under "Entry".
h. Select "Page in this Application" from "Target type" drop down.
i. Assign Page 18 in "Page" area under "Target" & hit "Create List Entry" button.
