Along with Touhou songs, Beatmania songs were very popular in the early MAD community. Naturally, this would invoke black MIDI remixes of these pieces. The base MIDI for this impossible remix originates from the well-known kakakakaito1998 (now defunct), reuploaded by TSMB2 here: • MIDITrail - Red Zone
In late 2012, TSMB2 blackened kakaka's MIDI into a 180,000 note remix ( • MidiTrail - Red Zone 180,000 note black remix ) until he made the 1.1 million remix shown here. He later sought out to reconstruct and refactor the MIDI as seen in this playlist here

Red Zone's legacy will be remembered as one of the original black MIDIs, both TSMB2- and kakakakaito1998-wise. It's spawned other black MIDI remixes such as Dead Zone as well as other Red Zone black remixes from other creators. At one point even black MIDI legend "TheErherg" uploaded this MIDI, though they had to edit his videos down and use a MIDI-to-MP3 converter to keep up with the lag (as this was back then).
