Amazon Bundling Policy Update: New Rules Start October 2024!
Amazon's updated Product Bundling policy, effective October 14, 2024, brings new rules for sellers in key categories. Here’s what you need to know:
Bundles must be exactly as created by the original manufacturer: You can only sell bundles that are packaged and offered by the manufacturer.
Example: You can list a Frito-Lay Mixed Chips Pack that’s packaged by Frito-Lay, but you cannot create your own bundle with two bags of Doritos and one bag of Cheetos, even though both are Frito-Lay products. You also can’t bundle the Frito-Lay Mixed Chips Pack with unrelated items like paper towels or kitchen utensils.
New Listings: To comply, sellers can create new bundles using products from a single manufacturer.
Enforcement Timeline: Amazon claims it will start enforcing this policy on existing bundles in late Q4 2024. Amazon also claims seller will receive a 30-day notice via email and their Account Health dashboard when non-compliant bundles are scheduled to be suppressed. However, it appears Amazon is already beginning to suspend accounts for bundling violations!
