Description:
I remember learning about comfy synth from Bandcamp and thought it would be interesting to create a VB comfy synth album or two. The result was Surrealistic Blankie // His Own Shadow Startled Him.
Just recently, I wanted to merge the records, so I tried to come up with a title that would unify the works. I realized that, to me, the project is largely about mortality, though I don't want to impede on other interpretations. It does play a film in my mind, however, about the ill-fated Molly. I think the specter of Covid hangs largely over this work, as does my memory of having been a chronically ill child.
