Watch as we breathe new life into this piece of scrap metal, turning it into a unique and powerful weapon. Whether you're a fan of blacksmithing, DIY projects, or historical weaponry, this project is sure to captivate and inspire you.

Materials and Tools:

Rusted gear
Forge or high-temperature heat source
Anvil
Hammer
Tongs
Angle grinder with cutting and grinding discs
Belt sander or files
Sandpaper (various grits)
Quenching oil
Tempering oven or kitchen oven
Handle materials (wood, metal, or composite)
Safety gear (safety goggles, heat-resistant gloves, apron, respirator)
Steps:

Preparation: Cleaning and cutting the rusted gear to prepare it for forging.
Forging the Blade: Heating the gear in the forge and hammering it into the shape of a scythe blade.
Refining the Shape: Using an angle grinder and files to refine the blade’s shape and edge.
Heat Treatment: Hardening the blade by heating it to a high temperature and quenching it in oil, followed by tempering to reduce brittleness.
Grinding and Polishing: Using a belt sander or files to sharpen the blade and achieve a smooth finish.
Creating the Handle: Crafting and attaching a sturdy handle to complement the blade, ensuring it is durable and ergonomic.
Final Assembly: Assembling the military scythe, ensuring the blade and handle are securely attached and finished.
Safety Tips:

Always wear safety goggles and heat-resistant gloves.
Work in a well-ventilated area and use a respirator when grinding or using chemicals.
